Chica
35 lb staffordshire mix; barely a year old; housebroken, spayed, and up to date on shots There is a 35 lb staffordshire mix that is in a desperate situation. I hate using the "she's going to go to the pound if we don't find her a home ASAP" line and try to avoid that as much as possible. Unfortunately, that is the case with Chica. She was abandoned by her owners. They left her with a pet sitter and just never returned! The pet sitters love her, but they are renting and their landlord won't allow them to keep her, and in fact threatened to evict them if they don't get rid of her. They had been given a deadline of by the end of January, and it's already mid-February. They are frantically trying to find a home for her ASAP before the landlord stops by for a visit.
I'm told that she doesn't live up to breed stereotypes. I think that's a good thing, although I don't know anything about staffordshire stereotypes. She does look somewhat like a pit bull, which is part of the trouble in finding her a home. She's housebroken, spayed, and up to date on shots. She's just barely a year old. Chica has played with the guardian's grandson's lab, but other than that, she has had little contact with other dogs. She has also not been around cats, other than a neighborhood stray cat. It is unknown whether is good with children.
