Hershey and Jerry
There's a guy named Eric who works at Edwards AFB, but is moving to Germany - he flys out on January 22nd. He has 3 cats that he loves dearly, but he is only allowed to take one. He hates to say goodbye to them, but desparately needs to find good homes for his furry kids.
They will both need an understanding home while they adjust as they are extremely attached to Eric (and Eric to them - he is very reluctant to let them go).
Jerry is orange and white and a little high strung. He is the happiest cat in the world otherwise and will give any home plenty of laughter with his antics.
Hershey is black/chocolate colored. He is a lover and when happy will play fetch with his mice. Just make sure you have enough space next to you when sitting or laying down as he will make space to be close.
UPDATE - 1/12/08: Hershey has found a very good home where he will be spoiled. :) However, Jerry still needs a caring family by Jan 22nd. Here's a little more info on Jerry:
"He is an ankle twister (walks in and out of your steps while you are trying to walk). He has lots of energy. He's absolutely a joy to have in the house and will bring smiles and laughter from just a look and a purr. The high strung part comes in when he is scared, the result being you won't see him for several hours, and trust me, he will find every hidey hole in the house. This will be very evident while he warms up to a new home, you might not see him for a few weeks. If you have patience though I promise you won't regret it. The vacuum will also put him into hiding. He is also extremely curious.
He only scratches his scratching posts and is housebroken. He is in perfect health, but needs to be updated on his shots. I haven't been able to get him in to the vet on base recently. He is a 2 1/2 - 3 year old neutered male. He chatters at the birds outside. Also, as far as I know if you introduced another feline(s) into the house he would more than likely accept them easily. Now with a dog, it probably would depend on the demeanor.
I know due to his yellow streak in new situations you will have to take my word as to his behavior, but I can't reiterate enough what a wonderful kid he is and how much joy he has brought to my home. It will just take a little patience and he will do the same for yours. Everyone I know calls him the happiest cat in the world after he gets used them, and he is quite often the favorite."
